Shop Stops

I thought I'd begin with my favorite places to shop and where I get my inspiration from.

I have four staples when I am looking for a specific item, or just anything new and exciting.

For starters, Nordstrom has all the nice things you want, plus some cheaper cute trendy pieces (in their junior/BP section). I usually spend more here just because of their higher quality merchandise. But as my super smart husband has taught me, it really is better to spend more for the quality (in most cases).
I absolutely DIE at J. Crew every single time.  The main reason I like J.Crew is simply because they have my style/taste. They are very preppy/classy, as I would call it. Their prices are similar to Nordstrom but totally worth it. And their accessories are always wonderful.

I go to H&M and Forever 21 for the same reasons...to find a cheap trendy piece or for staples like tank tops/t-shirts. I figure, if it's only going to be in style for this season, maybe a couple more, why fork out the cash?? I learned this the hard way, unfortunately. I bought a pair of True Religion jeans (over $300), bejeweled pockets, thick stitching, faded wash, the whole she-bang. I have maybe worn them 7 times and I think they are so ugly now. (Only had them 1.5 years!)

My two favorite blogs to follow are The Daybook and Pink Peonies, and are where I get some of my inspiration. I also have a subscription to InStyle Magazines where I find cute ideas. I am not a big reader, but every now and then I get a fashion book like Lauren Conrad's Style and Victoria Beckham's That Extra Half an Inch. Another go to for ideas is, naturally, Pinterest! Then, of course, there is just every day life where something stands out to me and I want to try it! Or I pull one item of clothing out of my closet and make some crazy concoction while still being cute. Sometimes I epically fail. BUT, the important thing is I wore it with confidence. If you want to try something different or a little out of your comfort zone, do it! Just slap on that smile and hold your head high because true style involves some creativity.

Outfits I've put together soon to come...

Up To Date

I have such a love for fashion and the beauty of women. I have decided to change my blog entirely to a fashion blog (with a few life and love stories along the way). I feel I have learned some valuable information in my few years of becoming more of a fashionista. I believe I was born for an eye of style and creativity.

Until I married my amazingly patient and loving husband, I didn't feel I had what it took to make something of myself and be confident in what/who I am. But I have been it all along. From makeup, to clothes, to accessories and hair.  I am a fashionista (or I'd like to think so haha).

I know every woman is born beautiful. I want to share my knowledge and advice to help them feel that way. By no means do I know exactly what I'm doing. I will be learning the most from this blog, I'm sure of it. I just want to help others to be inspired and uplifted.

I will start posting my new blog entries soon, and the fun will begin!

Fun Filled Week

This past week was full of exciting times. :D Well starting last Saturday Kevy and I went to one of our fave restaurants the Nordstrom Bistro Cafe. Then we went to Kevy's parents house to watch 49ers vs. Saints game. 49ers won! woohoo.

While Kev and his brothers watched the game I was asked to draw a picture of the tree of life scene. Well, I learned something I should have known, and now realize I remember being taught but it must not have registered. If that made any sense....haha. But I drew the river, which is supposed to be filthy and in between the tower and rod. Oh well. Next time. :D

Then we finished the night with Mimi's Cafe for our date for the week.

Last Sunday our landlord was working on insulating the attic. He fell through the ceiling. ha! And right above my side of the bed where I usually read. Luckily I was reading on the couch then!!

Then later on Sunday we had heard Rachel (Kevin's little sister) had a seizure Saturday night. So we all drove up to see her. She is doing fine. :D But on our way up to Logan I got pulled over! Oops! And apparently going to see your sister in law who just had a seizure isn't a good enough excuse to get you out of a ticket.

 Rachel and her boyfriend Brad

Then for family night this last Monday Daddy went and picked up our new table we got (since he has a truck). And we just HAD to break it in with a game of Rook! Kevy and I won....it's becoming a regular occurrence.

Then on Tuesday Kevy found out he got the internship he interviewed for! He will be interning at Beneficial Financial for this spring semester. It's the perfect internship to put on your resume to get a better internship (hopefully in New York!). So he will now have a complete resume to apply for the New York internships he wants for this summer. If that makes sense. So we celebrated with treats from Smiths, Taco Bell, and Martinelli.

Thursday came and we went out to dinner with Mom and Daddy then went to see Brian Regan. Always super funny!! (and Wednesday night my stylist colored my hair back brown)

Then as we were leaving Abravanal Hall we saw the new Nordstrom at City Creek! I am getting so excited for City Creek to open this spring!

Then on Friday Bobbi came up to visit and have a Sister Saturday! We got up and I did her makeup and made her all cute and stuff. Super fun morning times. :D

Bobbi's model shots...ooh la la.

All ready to go shopping

The cute sweater Robynn got

Then we all went out to The Dodo for dinner

And...the power went out while waiting for our appetizer.

So we went to Red Lobster down the street

We went to our new ward for the first time this Sunday and can't wait to get to know the people. Our home is finally coming together and "after" pictures will be posted soon. :D Have a great week!

Cruise to Cabo

HOLA! I have returned from the oh so awesome island of Cabo San Lucas and have the tan to prove it. :D We had sooo much fun but I don't have much time online. I am on campus with my sweety while he finishes up some late night homework. We are going to be getting internet soon at our new place  *hopeful sigh*.  So I am just going to let the pictures do most of the talking. There's gonna be a lot. But that's ok. This blog is mostly for me as a journal heehee. :D

It was so foggy New Years Eve in L.A. sooo cool.

Why thank you for making sure my remote was fresh!

Kevy had an assignment he HAD to finish before the cruise officially started. Only took about a half hour to finish up and we were finally on vaca.

Our first dinner in the restaurant. SUCH GOOD FOOD!

Foggy as we headed out to sea so I snuck up on Jason and Jessi

They were freaked out cuz they saw their silhouettes from the flash. Then they realized it was just me. :D

So I made them pose. What a super cute pic.

Haha, you can't really see in this pic, but the huge guy sitting on the lower deck (who looks naked but isn't). Well, he was using a shake weight and it was soooo funny. We tried to get a sneaky pic but he put it down as soon as we took it. bummer. lol.

Formal dinner

Sadly this was the best picture I could get of the whales we saw! Super cool.

Postcard pic. Oh yeah! (our ship is the farthest one)

Indian chief carved out of ice

This little drummer boy was amazing!!! And so cute to boot.

Ready to go parasailing

Kevy took this pic of me at one point when we got WAY too close to the water. Maybe 2 or 3 feet. I was freaking out as you can see. hahaha.

"hang loose"

Little Mexican restaurant we ate at. Twice. So good.

Gotta have a virgin pina colada!

Busted out the Hunger Games on the cruise. Sooo good. I got it for Christmas and when we got back I got the next two. Definitely recommend it.

Frog legs Kevy ate. So eew eew gross. I ran up to our room and threw up twice haha.

Saw Phantom of the Opera in Vegas. So amazing!

Outside the Venetian were these crazy scary white ball people on stilts. So weird but cool.

The Mormon way of staying up all night in Vegas. LOTS of sugar from the Sugar Factory and Coke!

Then last night I had to burn off all the fat from eating soooo much yummy food. Worked out with my good friend Tricia while the husbands watched LSU vs Alabama game. Sorry that LSU lost baby. :(

I had sooo much fun but am ready to start the new year! I have a great attitude about this year and am excited to see what I can accomplish personally and with my sweety! Happy 2012!
